…but I don’t know why. I am one of those people for whom suppression of emotion is such a life-long habit, that it takes me days or weeks to discover what is really bothering me. This is an improvement over ‘years’. It took me years to remember anything from my childhood, and that those bad things really did happen to me.
One thing that bothers me is that billboard drama in Atlanta. That atheist group has every right to advertise. It was not government sponsored. It was a non-government organization buying time and space from a non-government business. No one has to agree with them! They have a right to their opinions. This situation smacks of the same lynch mob tactics that the New Black Panthers used in PA at voting sites. Do the Atlantian Christians realize that they are making themselves resemble everything we Americans hate about Sharia Law?
Rather than use bullying to force the issue, Christians should use the time honored method of opening their mouths and speaking to individuals. Read the Book of Acts, people! What this incident has done is provide more ammunition for anti-Christian groups to ‘prove’ that Christians are militantly hostile to Reason. Many of the Christians to whom I speak ARE hostile to reason and logic, because they don’t know the Word. Mostly, they want to force God to see things their own way instead of listening to and obeying what the God really says.
Maybe that is what bothers me. That, and it’s another stupid election year (aka popularity contest) where everyone blathers and no one listens.
